Who's Listening

Chief Shawny Williams served 26-years in policing before becoming Chief of the Vallejo Police Department in 2019. He rose through the ranks of the San Jose Police Department, from officer to deputy chief, with his last 12 years as a police executive.

Chief Williams looks forward to participating in all community aspects of Vallejo and plans to continue to build upon the police departments’ community policing and community engagement efforts. He also intends to be a collaborative team member in the Vallejo City government who builds synergy while engaging the hearts and minds of all employees, our residents, students, and the business community.

Chief Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simpson University and a Master of Arts degree from Fort Hays State University in Organizational Leadership. He is also a 2012 graduate of the FBI National Academy.
