Welcome to the City of Vallejo's General Plan Update page! This effort involves updating the Housing Element, revising the Safety Element, and integrating environmental justice policies into the General Plan as required by State law.

The Vallejo City Council adopted the 6th Cycle Housing Element update on December 31, 2024, which was certified by the State of California the following day. This update triggered essential revisions to the General Plan's Safety Element and necessitated the incorporation of environmental justice policies into the overall General Plan. These efforts are crucial for enhancing our community's resilience to both natural and human-made hazards and ensuring that growth is equitable across all neighborhoods. The updated Safety Element will incorporate climate adaptation and resilience strategies. Additionally, the City's environmental justice policies will call for reducing health disparities and improving access to essential services, particularly in neighborhoods that have historically been underserved.

The Safety Element and environmental justice related work are slated for completion in 2025. We invite you to click "Subscribe" at the top right of the page to stay connected and informed about the progress of these vital projects.
