How do we give litter the boot?
over 3 years agoWhat ideas do you have to reduce litter and illegal dumping in the City in the following categories?
- Education - What information can we share that can reduce these issues?
- Enforcement - How can we enforce the CA penal code around illegal dumping and deter those that contribute to the litter and dumping situation?
- Collection - What can we do to stay on top of clean-up or make proper disposal of trash the path of least resistance?
- Mitigation - How do we prevent it in the first place?

Brandonover 2 years agoProvide a dumpster during normal hours so we don't have to burden see click fix. We can just take care of the problem when we see it.

Recology Vallejo picks up trash in Vallejo so is in and out of the neighborhoods constantly. They have the equipment to pick up trash. Why not sponsor some sort of contest with them to keep their areas clean? Have them submit the areas they clean and have someone from the City select a monthly winner. Just like the residents of Vallejo see the trash constantly as we drive around, so do the employees of Recology Vallejo.

Stores should all offer bins for bags to be recycled. I do not see that anymore. The heavier plastic bags are not solving the problem. I don't think people are using them over and over. We have got to do better. Post no parking times for street sweeping where there are storm drains. I see a problem with one on Del Mar often. Too many cars nowadays. People are not going to do this on their own. Vallejo needs to step up to save the planet. How about bins in stores for used small batteries. Too many people are still throwing in the trash.
