Vallejo Citizens Academy
Empowering Vallejo Residents Through Knowledge
The Vallejo Citizens Academy is designed to give residents an inside look at how their city operates. Through this program, you’ll explore City departments, learn how decisions are made, and discover ways to make a meaningful impact in your community.
What is the Vallejo Citizens Academy?
The Citizens Academy is an 11-week interactive educational program that helps Vallejo residents understand the inner workings of local government. Participants gain valuable insights into City operations and services, fostering a deeper connection to the community.
Our goal is to empower residents with knowledge—so you can:
- Engage more effectively in civic life
- Share accurate information with neighbors
- Contribute to shaping Vallejo’s future

City departments that will be included are:
- City Manager’s Office
- City Clerk
- City Attorney
- Economic Development
- Finance
- Fire
- Housing & Community Development
- Human Resources
- Information Technology
- Planning & Development Services
- Police
